For organizations

Become an Action Partner

Civic Compass helps people in Canada turn concern into concrete action. Action Partners are nonprofits and community groups whose campaigns we turn into clear, verified steps that supporters can finish in a few minutes, on a free page that carries your name.

Applications aren't open yet. Join the list and we'll let you know as soon as they are.

Our promise

Always free. Never for sale.

There's no cost to become an Action Partner, and partnership can't be bought. We don't offer sponsored placement, paid ranking or "featured" spots for a fee. Organizations appear in Civic Compass because their work fits, and for no other reason.

That rule protects the people using Civic Compass, and it protects you: supporters can trust that the actions on your page are there on their merits.

What you get

What Action Partners receive

  • A free, co-branded action page. Your organization's name, logo and a short "why this matters now" in your own words, at a link you can share with supporters.
  • Actions your supporters can finish in minutes. We turn your campaign ask into clear steps, easiest first, with ready-to-send messages where they help.
  • Credit on your actions. Actions you provide are marked as coming from your organization wherever they appear in Civic Compass.
  • A monthly activity summary. A simple report on activity from your page that you can use in board and funder updates. It never identifies individual supporters.
  • Room to change your ask. When your campaign moves, your page can move with it.

What we ask

A light commitment from your team

  • A short call to choose and approve the actions on your page.
  • A quick review each month to confirm your actions are still current.
  • Accurate, sourced information. Every action is checked before it goes live, and we may ask for a source.
  • Sharing your page with your supporters, in whatever way suits you.

Who it's for

Is your organization a fit?

We review every organization before anything is published. Partners are usually:

  • Registered charities, nonprofits and established community or grassroots groups.
  • Organizations actively working on one or more of the causes in Civic Compass.
  • Based in Canada, or running a clear program for people in Canada.
  • Open about who runs and funds the organization.

We don't partner with:

  • Political parties, candidates, riding associations and election campaigns.
  • Businesses looking to promote a product or service.
  • Organizations that promote hate, harassment or violence, or spread misleading information.

How it works

From first contact to a live page

  1. Tell us you're interested

Use the form below to join the notification list or ask a question. There's no application yet.

  2. We open applications

Everyone on the list hears from us first, with a short application to fill in.

  3. We review for fit

We look at each organization against the criteria on this page. Not every organization will be a fit, and we may say no or not yet.

  4. A short conversation

If it looks like a fit, we set up a call to agree on the actions and how your page should read.

  5. We build and check your page

We draft your page, fact-check every action, and send it to you for approval before anything goes live.

  6. Launch and monthly check-ins

Your page goes live, you share it, and we check in each month to keep it current.
