Three simple steps

Civic action, simplified.

Civic Compass was created for the average everyday citizen who watches the news, realizes they want to help, and then feels overwhelmed with not knowing where to start. We fix that by giving you a customized plan tailored to the causes you care about most.

1

Tell us where you are

Enter your city or postal code - that's the only thing Civic Compass ever asks for. It's used to find your MP and match you with actions that apply where you live.

2

Pick what you care about

Choose from a growing list of the issues shaping the news right now - conflicts, humanitarian crises, policy discussions - and more. Each one comes with a short, plain-language brief so you have the context needed to make informed decisions.

3

Act in under 5 minutes

Actions are sorted into five types of pressure - political, economic, community, public awareness, and humanitarian - and for each cause we surface the ones most likely to make a difference. They might include:

  • Signing a verified petition
  • Writing to your MP or a minister
  • Rethinking where you shop, bank, or invest
  • Speaking up publicly to counter misinformation
  • Donating to a vetted organization

Most take just a few minutes. Where an action involves contacting your MP, we even find the right representative and draft the message for you - you just review, personalize if you like, and send.

Privacy

We take your privacy seriously.

We don't require an account, and we don't sell your data. Creating an account is entirely optional. If you do, the only thing we store is your action history and plan so you can pick up where you left off.
