Protect U.S. Reproductive Access

Step 1 of 5 · 2 min total

In 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the ruling that had guaranteed a nationwide right to abortion, allowing 21 states to ban or severely restrict it.

Since then, U.S. courts and the federal government have moved to limit abortion medication and defund reproductive-health clinics.

This reaches into Canada: a U.S. policy blocks organizations worldwide — even those using Canadian funds — from providing or discussing abortion, Canadian aid for reproductive health faces cuts, and more Americans are crossing the border for care. Within Canada, abortion is legal and publicly funded, but access gaps persist in rural, northern, and Indigenous communities.
